With the primary and local election coming up quick (June 12th!), it’s important to for folks to be informed about the candidates who will be representing Reno! The following is a list of resources to help inform about the election and the candidates — this is not extensive, so continue to do research on your own.

Videos from a recent opportunity for young people—and everyone else—to ask the questions that really matter to local candidates:

The three separate forums took place throughout May at the Downtown Library, respectively featuring candidates for Washoe County Commission, Reno City Council, and Mayor of Reno.

Board of Commissions Forum, May 3rd (1:35:51)
City Council Candidate Forum, May 10th (1:27:53)
Mayoral Candidate Forum, May 31st (1:31:09)

Presented by the Reno News & Review, the Holland ProjectThisisReno.com, the Washoe County Library System, and KWNK Community Radio, the Speak Youth to Power Forum centered around issues affecting young voters. While the events were youth-centered, all members of the public were encouraged to attend. These were not debates, but forums for candidates to address issues. Audience members also had the opportunity to ask questions. These non-partisan forums were open to all candidates. (Forum information from here.)
